September 2006 Marty Johnson, President and Kansas Certified Nursery Professional If you have dogs, then we have a new product you'll really like. Guard Dog deals with a turf problem that I refer to as "Dog Dead Spot." You know, those dead spots caused from dog urine. Dog urine is a concentrated solution of salts and ammonia that creates a "dead ringer" or "dog hot spot" where grass can no longer grow. Guard Dog attacks the problem by binding the salts, consuming the ammonia and increasing soil permeability. Guard Dog Ready-to-Use (RTU) and Guard Dog Ready-to-Spray (RTS) Concentrate enable lawns to recover from hot spots and protect your lawn against future damage. For best results, treat spots as soon as possible prior to rainfall or watering ... from early spring to late fall. Guard Dog RTU's handy trigger spray container allows homeowners to treat dog lawn spots as soon as grass yellowing begins to occur. Guard Dog RTS treats up to 5,000 sq. ft. of lawn and can accurately meter applications for prevention or treatment of urine-damaged lawns.
