Johnsons's Garden Centers Text File document - copyright 2004 PDF file available at http://www.johnsonsgarden.com/newsletter/nurseryplants.html The Curse of Iron Chlorosis November/December 2004 Jeremy Johnson, JohnsonÕs Nursery Buyer, KS Certified Nursery Professional For those of you who read the cover article in our September issue of "Garden Talk," this is old news; but if that somehow escaped you we have a new service to offer that may be able to reduce many of your ongoing garden/landscape headaches. Based on proven research, we have developed a treatment to correct iron chlorosis (Y E L L O W L E A V E S !!!!) in Pin Oaks, Sweetgums, Red Maples and any other tree that is suffering from this nutrient deficiency. Our treatment is not what you find with many other services where they hang some sort of I.V. bag on the tree. We are trying to correct the soil chemistry to let the trees find iron that is already in the soil. Our method is unique in that we auger holes in the soil around the dripline of your tree and backfill with a proven combination of nutrients and fertilizers. There is no drilling into the trunk, no bag hanging on your tree, just a few 3" diameter holes in the ground around the tree, and we are finished! If you are interested in having someone take a look at your situation, or would just like for us to come out and fix your trees, please give us a call today at 943-6886.
