Kids Gardening

    Many parents find gardening an excellent way to spend quality time
with their kids, teach lessons such as environmental awareness, and
introduce the joys of nature. Gardening is an activity that allows each
family member, with different talents and abilities, a way to contribute
in creating something enjoyable together.

    If you haven't started gardening with your child, fall is an ideal
time to start. Besides being a beautiful time to be outdoors, growing
conditions are great and there are many fall projects to choose from.
It's the perfect time to plant trees and shrubs. Since most kids love to
dig, they can just pitch right in. Fall is also the season to reseed the
lawn. A full-scale renovation is probably not a job for children, but
re-seeding small areas can be fun for kids, and it will help you to
convince them to stay off the newly seeded areas. There are also many
fall vegetable and flower garden choices. Come by and see all we have to
offer at Johnson's. Our staff will be happy to help with recommendations
to fit your needs.

    Bring the kids with you to Pansy Mania Days, September 19-22, so
they can pot a pansy to take home for their own garden!
