How to Control Moles, Grubs, and Other Lawn Pests

We had another successful ChileFest last weekend (even with the record temperatures!) Thank you to everyone for coming out and enjoying chile samples, pork chile verde, and our Smokin' Joe's green chile cheeseburgers.
With ChileFest behind us, the stores are getting ready for fall. Our homegrown mums are starting to show color. Spring flowering bulbs from the Netherlands are in the stores, and pansies will be stocked as cooler temperatures arrive next week. New foliage from Florida fills our greenhouses, and ferti•lome will be delivering fall products any day.
On the home front, my turf is stressed like most everyone else's in the region. In addition to the drought, I'm dealing with moles.
Moles and gophers are just a couple of the pests that can visit our lawns and landscapes. While they can help aerate the ground, enabling life by giving oxygen to the soil, they can also wreak havoc on the supply of earth-building worms you've worked so hard to stockpile in your flower garden. On the other hand, they do eat grubs. Another way to rid your yard of grubs, and a mole's food source, is to apply Bio Advanced 24 Hour Grub Killer Plus Granules.
